Memorial Day Weekend 2014

This weekend feels very much like a blur! I came down with a very painful sore throat on Thursday and then allergies on Friday morning and by that afternoon added muscle aches. Needless to say, I was miserable Saturday. We did some shopping and cleaning. I didn't get as much done as I wanted but, I've got a 5 month old now... I'm even thankful I got even a part of the house cleaned. Josh went cycling that afternoon and we made dinner for his folks. Sunday was usual. We went to church and did family dinner. Today did not go as planned. Baby girl was fussy all day! I decided to stay home with her instead of going into work (which I will be making up for every night this week). I think it would've been a good break for all of us. Anywho, I enjoyed spending the day with my husband and daughter: shopping, grilling, remembering loved ones, but I am so going to regret not going into work. :/ I have to say, Baby girl is sitting up well on her own now! I am SO proud of her now!!!

Summer Plans 2014

As the school year is winding down and summer is beginning, I am thinking about what we will do this summer.

I know my plans haven't normally worked in the past, but it is worth a try.

I want to set some sort of routine... Everyone has some sort of adventurous week planned and I think it would be fun to plan to do something outside of the house.

For example:

Library Monday- Go to the Library every Monday.
Temple Tuesday- Go to the Temple and walk the grounds.
Window Shopping Wednesday- Go to the store and browse and maybe actually buy something.
Swimming Thursday- Go swimming... somewhere, anywhere (Grandma's, our complex, the rec center, etc.)
Friends Day Friday- Pick a friend and go out or hang out.
Try Something New Saturday- Self explanatory

Of course this may need to be tweaked and all will depend on Baby girl's schedule.

Also, we are planning another trip to Idaho with a stop in Northern Utah.

Another week long vacation may be in the works. It's up in the air so I will let you know when it is definite.

Mother's Day 2014

I am clearly slow to the punches but, how was my first Mother's Day?

I had a blast. We went to Mesquite for most of the weekend to visit with my mom. While there, I got a mani/pedi and my hair cut. We gave my mom her present. Josh also got a little treat, early for Father's Day. Pictures of his gift are to come later.

We left Sunday and had dinner with Josh's family. Josh's mom also got the same gift as my mom did.

I must say, making these grandma gifts were crazy and fun. I got the idea from Pinterest and when I showed the picture to Josh, he absolutely loved it! The first one we did (above) turned out decent for our first try. The second one we made was a complete FAIL! Baby girl didn't cooperate and so her feet looked nothing like feet let alone a heart. The third one we did was a charm. The feet were in such a place it actually looked like a heart.

New School

So for those of you who do not know (which will be most of you), I will be at a new school next year. I am saddened to leave Bozarth, but excited to be closer to home! It just means I am ubber busy the last few weeks of school so I can move. Let me tell you what... There is nothing like having a child at home to make you aware of your time and how your using it, and how little chunks of time can add up to a lot! Also baby girl is getting so big! She turned 5 months last week and she is at such a fun stage. Right now, she loves shaking her head no! As a family, we have begun to eat healthier and we are seeing changes in our waistlines and weight, but also our family budget. Need to go! :) Until next time!

My New Life

My life isn't completely new, but I haven't written a thing since I've returned to work. Life has been busy, but I've been able to balance it out... Most of the time. There is not much to put on here... Baby girl is 5 months old today! She is as curious as ever! She is very wiggly and drooly. She has strong legs and can move around a lot more. She is trying really hard to roll from back to front. :) She is growing super fast. Oh, and she is eating solid foods. We've discovered thus far she HATES green beans and as much as she loves carrots, they do not sit well with her. She has done super well with rice cereal, peas, and squash. During spring break, Josh and I began The Flat Belly Diet. For those of you that have been in my life for awhile, it's the diet my mom and I did in 2010 but that I stopped doing because I got busy. My mom on the other hand lost tons of weight. In 2 weeks, Josh lost 16 lbs and I lost 8.5 lbs. this tells us we were eating way more than needed! I can tell there is a weight-loss change in Josh. He is very proud of himself and the hard work he is putting forth. The last thing, but pretty important none the less, is that I got hired on at a different school for next school year. It's a bit bittersweet because I've been at my current school for 3 years but, it's time for me to be closer to home. This puts me drastically closer to home and most importantly closer to my sweet baby girl. I am scared and nervous but, I know it's for the best. I think that is all I have for now. I'll talk more in about 6 weeks when school is out for summer.
